夏校简介

在过去30年,地球科学与生命科学取得的重要进展之一便是发现了海底及洋壳生物圈(统称深部生物圈)。这些位于地球深部高压环境下的生命以微生物为主,代表了已知生命的极限。深部生命的生物量与地表相当,但却是目前最少被开发的生物资源。在特殊的深海高压生境下,长期的生命演化过程造就了深海微生物极高的物种多样性和功能特殊的基因和代谢物,不仅具有极高的科学研究价值,同时也成为发现新菌株、新基因、新材料、新化合物、新功能和新机制的宝藏。
Over the past 30 years, one of the most significant advancements in Earth and Life Sciences has been the discovery of the subseafloor and oceanic crust biosphere (collectively termed the "deep biosphere"). These high-pressure, deep-Earth environments host primarily microorganism, representing the known limits of life. The biomass of deep life rivals that of the Earth's surface, yet it remains the least explored biological resource. The extreme high-pressure conditions of the deep sea have driven unique evolutionary adaptation, resulting in extraordinary microbial diversity and functionally distinct genes/metabolites. These discoveries hold immense scientific value and serve as a treasure trove for novel strains, genes, materials, compounds, functions, and mechanisms.
这个夏天,国际深部生命研究中心(IC-DLI)联合深部生物圈研究领域资深专家,推出深部生命过程与特殊资源挖掘国际夏校项目。该项目通过前沿学术讲座与实验实践相结合,旨在加深学员对深部生物圈过程与资源勘探的系统认知。课程包含了20余场专题讲座,涵盖深部微生物代谢、演化与极端环境适应机制、元素循环、细菌矿物互作、国际大洋发现计划(IODP)与国际大陆钻探计划(ICDP)项目、深部生物资源产业化开发等内容;此外还有10余堂实验操作课程,包含遗传实验、地球化学分析及微生物培养技术等技术培训。本项目将推动深部生物圈知识技术共享,促进国际专家与青年学者间交流,创造新的合作机会,形成深部生命研究的合力。
This summer, IC-DLI has partnered with senior experts in the research field of deep biosphere and provide this summer school program. The program is delivered through a combination of cutting-edge lectures and practical exercises, aiming to enhance the participant’ comprehensive understanding of deep biosphere processes and resources exploration. The program includes 20+ lectures covering topics such as microorganism metabolism, evolution, adaptation in deep biosphere, elemental recycle, bacterial-mineral interaction, IODP and ICDP drilling program, industrial development of biological resource in deep biosphere and so on. It also integrates 10+ lab-based practical courses tailored for participants, such as genetic experiments, geochemical analysis and cultured based techniques. We hope this program will enhance knowledge and technology sharing in deep biosphere, promote international communication between experts and young researchers, and produce cooperation among participants.

本次夏校名额限30人。
A maximum of 30 participants will be enrolled.
费用
学费免费。交通费、住宿费、餐饮及其他费用由本人承担。组织方可协助安排住宿。为促进国际交流,项目将为入选的国际学生提供最高4500元人民币的国际机票补贴。
Tuition is free.Travel expense, accommodation, meals and other fee are on one’s own. The program can help book accommodation.To promote international communication, the program will provide International air-ticket subsidy for selected students, which is up to 4500 RMB.
