As the rabbit is leaving the year and the dragon is welcoming the spring, SJTU's "Dragon in the Four Seas, Blessing in the Eight Directions" Spring Festival Reunion Dinner was held at Minhang Campus on 7th February, on the eve of the traditional Chinese festival, the Year of the Dragon, which is the year of the Dragon.
President Ding Kuling, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President Zhang Ansheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Zhou Cheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Lin Litao, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President Jiang Xinghao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President Hu Weiwei, Full-time Deputy Director of the University Council Gu Feng, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Director of the Propaganda Department Hu Hao, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Director of the Organisation Department Fang Xi, Assistant to the President Yu Chaoyang and other leaders of SJTU, teachers of the relevant departments, faculties, and students staying in SJTU enjoyed the dinner with laughter. They enjoyed a warm and lively "New Year's Eve Dinner" in the midst of laughter.
On behalf of the university, President Ding Kui Ling sent his blessings to the remaining teachers and students. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to all Jiaoda people for their hard work and dedication in the past year. I hope that we will not forget the beginning, move forward, the year of the dragon to make great luck. Ding Kui Ling also sent a message to students, to their loved ones in their hometowns to report a safe, send a blessing, talk about the harvest, talk about the vision, but also with their loved ones to share this joyful and happy "Jiao Tong University year".
Folklore and Folklore in the Garden
Before the New Year's Eve dinner started, there was a traditional "garden party" where teachers and students made dumplings together and enjoyed themselves. At the same time, the school also prepared traditional customs for students to experience, such as sending blessings in the New Year and throwing pots for blessings. The unique design of the "garden party" and the rich traditional cultural elements made the New Year's Eve dinner an unforgettable experience for the students and teachers of Jiaotong University.
Youthful Exhibition of Vitality, Dragon Dance to Celebrate the Chinese New Year
Students prepared a variety of talent programmes, bringing a delightful cultural feast. Students dressed in ancient costumes and carrying musical instruments played the classic folk music "Joyful" and "Dance of the Golden Snake", which opened the prelude to the dinner show. The joyful and exciting melodies and rhythms made people feel the rich connotation and unique charm of traditional Chinese instrumental music. The multi-talented students of Jiaotong University used musical instruments, songs and dances as ink to outline the festive atmosphere of the New Year for us.
The choral song "Joy to the Eyebrow", pipa solo "Dragon Boat", kunqu "Neishang YaYun Welcomes the New Year", harmonica solo "Olive Tree", flute solo "Welcoming Relatives in the Mountain Villages", and the dance "Xinxin" ...... the combination of nationalities and the world, tradition and modernity, won the applause of the teachers and students in the audience.
The whole performance site was full of joyful atmosphere, these programmes not only showed the colourful style of Jiao Tong University people, but also conveyed the students' good wishes and blessings for the brand-new year of dragon.
Drinking water, thinking of its origin, the year of the dragon to make great luck!
Mr and Mrs Liu Luen-hung not only prepared gift packs for every student and teacher attending the dinner, but also generously donated Year of the Dragon pillows, sports bracelets, wireless headphones and other raffle prizes, representing the alumni's heart, cohesion of the school's blessings. Four rounds of raffle prizes were interspersed among the many wonderful performances, making the evening party exciting one after another.
